Here’s a little about me:
I am a Mental Health Coach whose main goal is to help you achieve life harmony. You will gain clarity on what you really want and identify barriers that stop you from getting it. Offering a unique blend of evidence-based theories, spirituality, life experience, and natural gifting’s, working with me will allow you to reconnect with hope and possibilities. We will define your purpose, and tap into your special gifts, talents and strengths.
Using clinically sound strategies, I support you as you work through past experiences that have sidelined you and blurred your vision. My approach derives from a holistic framework that values you as “the best expert on you.” This framework focuses on helping you become more aware of the connection between emotions, thoughts and behaviors and how cognitive distortions derails your purpose and disturbs your peace.
I genuinely care for my clients and work hard to create a warm and safe environment where we are able to identify and deal with issues in a way that is easy-going, relatable, and even enjoyable. As a woman with emotions, I am not above sharing joy, laughter and tears with my clients when I’m touched. To help you understand my heart even more, this is how I view what I do, “Being a licensed therapist doesn’t mean that I get to sit high and look down on my clients. Nor does it mean that I have all the answers. What it does mean, however, is that I sit with them – eye level - in whatever space they are in – without judgment – giving them my best until change happens.” I am a trained professional with skills to help my you gain improved emotional stability, clearer life vision, enhanced problem-solving strategies, stronger communication and coping skills, increased self-esteem, and positive behavior changes that yield optimal mental health and wellness.
As a very proud product of the Washington DC Public School System, I achieved Magna Cum Laude, academic honors, in both undergraduate and graduate school. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from The American University in Washington, DC, and a Master of Arts in professional counseling from Lancaster Bible College in Lancaster, PA.
Other interest include workshop facilitation, public speaking, youth and young adult mentoring and providing counseling services to a local group home for at-risk youth. Most importantly, I am a wife of 33 years, the proud mother of 3 adult sons and a doting grandmother.
I look forward to working with you!
